Sue Heys first started working with glass as a hobby over 20 years ago, and began selling items about 15 years ago when her creations began to take over her house!
Sue will turn her hand to most types of design but usually returns to the stylised visions of nature so typical of the early part of the 20th century
or the geometric designs of the Art Deco period. She particularly enjoys making decorative lamps or mirrors but has also turned her hand to many other glass items. She is particularly influenced by the designs of Louis Comfort Tiffany, Charles Rennie Mackintosh, and Frank Lloyd Wright and other iconic names from the Art Nouveau and Art Deco periods.
Sue is a craft member of the Somerset Guild of Craftsmen, takes part in many of their exhibitions and has permanent exhibits at their Home Gallery in Somerton. She also takes part in Somerset Art Weeks most years and The Ten Parishes Festival in Somerset. She sells items at the Wellington Arts Association Spectrum group exhibition each year and takes part in other local ventures when possible.
